These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Chaga mobile application ("App") operated by Chaga ("we," "us," or "our"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms.
Chaga provides ingredient safety information for educational and informational purposes only. Chaga is not a substitute for professional medical, nutritional, or veterinary advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider or veterinarian before making health decisions based on information provided by the App.
Ingredient scores, safety ratings, and risk assessments are based on publicly available data from regulatory agencies, scientific literature, and open-source databases. They reflect our interpretation of available data and may not account for individual health conditions, sensitivities, or circumstances.
Pet toxicity information in Chaga is provided for general awareness only. If you believe your pet has ingested a toxic substance, contact your veterinarian immediately or call the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center at (888) 426-4435.
Toxicity levels and severity ratings are based on veterinary literature and may not reflect every individual animal's response. Breed, size, age, and health conditions affect toxicity thresholds.
Product data is sourced primarily from Open Food Facts, an open-source community database, supplemented by the Spoonacular API and FDA public databases. While we make reasonable efforts to ensure accuracy:

If you upload product photos through the community image feature, you grant Chaga a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute the photo in connection with the App's product database. You represent that you have the right to share any photos you upload.
The App, including its design, scoring algorithms, ingredient database, brand identity, and written content, is the intellectual property of Chaga. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the App without written permission.
Open Food Facts data is used under the Open Database License (ODbL). FDA data is public domain.
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR COMPLETELY ACCURATE.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CHAGA SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAMAGES ARISING FROM RELIANCE ON INGREDIENT SAFETY INFORMATION, PET TOXICITY ALERTS, OR PRODUCT SCORES.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Chaga and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Material changes will be communicated through the App or via email.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Texas.
